This is an X-pattern skating drill. Ella, our demo goalie, is going to start on her post. She’s going to lead with her eyes out to her blueline angle across to the opposite side of the crease. You can see as she works away to the opposite blueline, she’s going to rotate versus C cut, leading with her eyes and being able to push, pull and reset her feet at the opposite blue line angle, and then repeating down theY to the opposite post, making an X pattern in the crease. You can see as Ella’s moving, she’s stopping more on her heels than her toes. Specifically when she’s moving across the crease from a blueline angle to a blue line angle, and when shes moving to her right post, we want to always be sure that we’re stopping so our weight is forward and her weight is not dragging backward.
